History is fascinating. It can also be fun to find out. Writing about it can add to the pleasure of finding out too. In my talks, the fascination, fun and challenges of writing combine to give the audience a real feel for what living in times past can have been like, and to spread the enjoyment that I have always got from writing on the subject. I can even add to the atmosphere by presenting my talk dressed in the costume of the period.
